Copy of Balsa Wood Bridge Project

While taking ENGR 1035 at the University of Pittsburgh, my team and I were tasked with using our skills to design and construct a balsa wood bridge. For this, we had to create drawings of our bridge, which was an altered warren with verticle supports, and full calculations of the forces in each member. These calculations were made within a program called MATLAB and were routinely checked by members of the team. After passing our design review, we constructed our bridge and tested the maximum force until failure.
My role within the project was to produce a design that met the criteria for our bridge project. This means we had to create a bridge that was the right length and width for it to be tested and also complete all of the force and stress calculations for our design reviews. In addition, the engineers were responsible for completing the methodology, results, and discussion sections of our technical report.
Below I will have links to the MATLAB code that I created in order to calculate the force and stress maximums for our bridge and my team's technical report for our final design.
